Waterless hand soap on the go
With SOAPEYA, impact is created where hand hygiene is not a given in everyday life — through a solution that works without water and is carried forward together with strong partners.
SOAPEYA emerged from a simple, yet pressing question: What happens to hand hygiene where water is scarce?
During travels to water-poor regions, it became clear how closely hygiene, health, and access to resources are interconnected. Where clean water is scarce, even something as fundamental as handwashing becomes a challenge.
From this observation came the idea for SOAPEYA: a form of hand cleaning that works without water, functions in everyday life, and can be used where conventional solutions reach their limits.

We work with local NGOs to distribute hygiene kits to communities in water-scarce regions worldwide.

Access to hygiene reduces disease risk and strengthens communities in their development.
Success Stories
Together with Plan International, our team was on the ground in Attoncor, a rural community in Ghana. There, we were able to accompany the application of SOAPEYA in practice and gather direct feedback from the community.
It was particularly important that SOAPEYA could build on existing work: as a complement to a three-year water project, the solution fit meaningfully into existing structures. Regulatory questions were clarified early on with relevant authorities such as the FDA (Food and Drug Authority) — an important step for long-term and scalable implementation; likewise, potential support with CONIWAS, an umbrella organization coordinating 80 NGOs active in the WASH sector, was discussed at a meeting in Accra.
SOAPEYA quickly gained acceptance in everyday life, particularly among harvest workers who have no opportunity for hand cleaning during the day in the fields. A particularly moving moment was a play by children from the community that impressively showed how closely hand hygiene and health are connected.
Together, we can address the global challenge of increasing water scarcity and create real change.
